GRADEONWARD

How we make these tools useful

Visible maths, realistic assumptions and a practical next step.

Our purpose

GradeOnward helps students answer a specific question: what would it take to reach this target, and what can I do next? We publish calculators with formulas, worked examples, input assumptions and explanations of results. A number without context is not the end of the tool.

How calculations are checked

The project includes automated checks for arithmetic, rounding, impossible targets, credit weighting, dates, shared time budgets, account isolation and backup validation. Examples are checked against the calculation functions. Passing these checks does not mean an institution has endorsed a tool or that every grading policy is supported.

Where your institution’s rules matter

Grade weights, credit rules, pass/fail treatment, grade replacement, attendance thresholds and GPA mappings must come from your course or institution. Country and education filters guide tool selection; they do not certify a nationwide conversion. We do not label institutional profiles as verified when they have not been reviewed.

Workload estimates are yours

No calculator can guarantee a grade from a number of study hours. Planning tools use your unfinished-work estimates, available time and deadlines. Missed days and changing estimates should produce a revised plan, not an invented promise about performance.

Corrections and updates

If you find a problem, include the tool name, example inputs, expected result and what happened. Remove personal information from the example first. Use the feedback page. We can reproduce arithmetic issues and update the shared calculation or explanation so the correction applies consistently.

Advertising independence

Advertising, if enabled later, will be labeled and separated from tool controls. Ad placement does not change formulas, rank study tasks or influence whether a target is shown as reachable. We do not ask students to click ads as a condition of using GradeOnward.
